September 2011 Newsletter

From the President:
Howdy to all,
I hope that you are all enjoying the final days of summer! Seems hard to think fall will be here soon as warm as it is. I actually saw a tree yesterday with the leaves starting to turn. Fall always puts me in the mood for starting new projects. I have found some most awesome fabrics and will be quilting away.
See you soon, until then keep on quilting.
--Lynn Lucas

Newsletter Upcoming Vacancy

Since I’m taking over Charity in January, I’m giving up the newsletter at that time, after many fun years. Only about 6 members get the newsletter by mail, so postage and home printing is minimal, and reimbursed by DQ. I send out a monthly reminder to the contributors, edit what comes back, and off it goes.
The editor can use any style and format she wants, and it’s a fun way to keep up with basic computer skills. I’ve also been sending out the rosters, and by-laws to new members, but these can be negotiated back to the Membership person. Be creative! If interested, tell a Board Member. --Beth

Future Programs

October 3rd meeting. We have a fiber art group Called ATW coming to give us a trunk show. They will be first on the agenda, so don't be late! We will have time for you to meet them personally and see their art close up before a short business meeting and Show and Tell.
November 7th is Challenge night. Bring your challenge quilts for us to see and vote. Also, while counting is going on, we will have a show and tell of Broken Star quilts. If you have made one, or have one, please bring it in. The Richland Library show is only a year away and we need lots of gorgeous quilts to hang. Hopefully you will get inspired to make one.
December 5th is the Christmas party and stocking assembly. It is amazing how many stockings get finished in a short time.
