February 2011 Newsletter

From the President:
Howdy to all!
What an interesting month this has been! The snow has kept everyone entertained for certain. I still have a trace of it on my deck. Hope springs eternal as I saw my first robin a couple of days ago and then just this afternoon a whole flock of brewers blackbirds with robins mixed in. Now if that wonderful rodent of a groundhog will just not see his shadow we will be set for spring! The annual spring plant show at the farmers market is around April 14. Until then I will keep busy finishing up a couple of quilts that I have started. Hopefully I will have them to show you in February.
In the meantime keep on quilting!

Programs

February's meeting will have Jennifer Amor and Eileen Sullivan doing a trunk show of their quilts and wearables. This is a chance to see their work up close and to purchase their patterns.
Since the weather kept us from having our first meeting of 2011, January's program will be rescheduled for later this year.
The 2011 Challenge will be unveiled in February. Packets will be for sale for $2.00 at the meeting. --Lynn B.

Membership

If you haven’t renewed your 2011 membership, please do so by the February meeting. I would like to print the 20011 roster later in February. If you need a copy of the renewal form, contact me at nebulosa@sc.rr.com or 699-6577. --Beth

Love Goddess’ Report on Love Quilt Programs

Please bring any quilts for Children's Garden or the Breast Cancer Center to February meeting. Sorry we weren't able to collect them in January. We will continue with kleenex tissues and antibacterial wipes as the needed supplies for Children's Garden for February.

Editor’s filler note: the 5 month old Maine Coon kittens, about 6 lbs each already, were found on top of my bookcases behind my 3 portable flannel walls, messing with the “safe” art pottery. Second time around, intercepted 2nd kitten following the first, rock climbing 5 feet up the flannel and going over the top. This does not bode well on sooo many levels…. --Beth
